Arrival in Ulan-Bator city. Ulan Bator is Mongolia's capital and largest city. Its population as of 2014 was over 1.3 million; almost half of the country's total population. Located in north central Mongolia, the municipality lies at an elevation of about 1,310 metres (4,300 ft) in a valley on the Tuul River. It is the country's cultural, industrial and financial heart, the centre of Mongolia. |

After having breakfast at the hotel, we will start the sightseeing tour in Ulan-Bator city. Our first destination will be “Zaisan Memorial”. The Zaisan Memorial is a memorial in the southern area of the Mongolian capital of Ulaanbaatar that honors Soviet soldiers killed during World War II in 1939. It is one of the highlights of Ulan-Bator city thanks to the fantastic views it offers over the city. Then, we will visit “Winter Palace of the Bogd Khan”. The palace is the only one left from originally four residences of the eighth Javzandamba Khutughtu, who was later proclaimed Bogd Khan, or emperor of Mongolia. The palace displays many of the Bogd Khan's possessions, such as his throne and bed, his collection of art and stuffed animals, his ornate ceremonial ger. After lunch at the local restaurant, we will walk through the city center and visit at State Department Store, souvenir and antique shops and cashmere shop. After dinner, we will take a rest at the hotel. |

After breakfast, we will travel to Khuvsgul Lake, a biggest fresh water lake in Mongolia (900 km from Ulan-Bator). Khuvsgul Lake is the largest fresh water lake in Mongolia by volume, and second largest by area. It is nicknamed as “Switzerland of Mongolia”. Khuvsgul lake is located in the northwest of Mongolia near the Russian border, at the foot of the eastern Sayan Mountains. It is 1,645 metres (5,397 feet) above sea level, 136 kilometres (85 miles) long and 262 metres (860 feet) deep. The lake area is home to a variety of wildlife such as ibex, argali, elk, wolf, wolverine, musk deer, brown bear, Siberian moose, and sable. On the way, we will pass through Erdenet city, 3rd largest city of Mongolia and have a lunch. At the end of the day, we will arrive in Khuvsgul Province and stay overnight in Tourist Camp in Khatgal Soum. Another option is that we can stay overnight in tent at the river bank. Khoridol Saridag (Range of the mountains) Horse Trekking Tour |
After breakfast, our 6-days horse trekking tour will begin. We will travel by horse-only up to the forest and mountains for 70 km. It will take around 3 days to reach the peak of the mountain which is called Khoridol Saridag. The Khoridol Saridag mountains are a 150 km-long mountain range in Khövsgöl province, Mongolia, between Khövsgöl lake and the Darkhad valley. The range covers parts of the Renchinlkhümbe, Ulaan-Uul and Alag-Erdene sums. The highest peak is Delgerkhaan Uul (3093m), two other notable peaks are Ikh Uul (2961m) and Uran Dösh Uul (2702m) on the shores of Khövsgöl lake. During the tour, we will stay overnight in tent. We will be traveling to places where it is impossible to reach by car but only by horse. On the way back to our Tourist Camp, we will also travel by horse only for 70 km for 3 days. On the 9th day of our whole tour, we will get back to our tour camp in Khatgal soum. We will take a rest after long journey. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.) |
Khuvsgul – Ulan-Bator |
After breakfast at the tour camp, we will travel back to Ulan-Bator (900 km from Khuvsgul). It will take a day and arrive in Ulan-Bator by the end of the day. We will take a rest at the hotel at night. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included.) |
