Ulan-Bator

Arrival in Ulan-Bator city. Ulan Bator is Mongolia's capital and largest city. Its population as of 2014 was over 1.3 million; almost half of the country's total population. Located in north central Mongolia, the municipality lies at an elevation of about 1,310 metres (4,300 ft) in a valley on the Tuul River. It is the country's cultural, industrial and financial heart, the centre of Mongolia.
After passing through the immigration, we will arrive at the hotel and check-in. Dinner included.

Ulan-Bator

After breakfast at the hotel, we will start the sightseeing tour in Ulan-Bator city. The first destination will be “National Museum of Mongolia”. It is the largest national museum of Mongolia located in Ulan- Bator. Exhibitions cover prehistory, pre-Mongol Empire history, Mongol Empire, Mongolia during Qing rule, ethnography and traditional life, and twentieth-century history.

Then, we will visit “Winter Palace of the Bogd Khan”. The palace is the only one left from originally four residences of the eighth Javzandamba Khutughtu, who was later proclaimed Bogd Khan, or emperor of Mongolia. The palace displays many of the Bogd Khan's possessions, such as his throne and bed, his collection of art and stuffed animals, his ornate ceremonial ger. After lunch, we will walk through the city center and visit at State Department Store, souvenir and antique shops and cashmere shop. After dinner, we will take a rest at the hotel.

Ulan-Bator-Kharkhorum

After breakfast, we take a bus from Ulan-Bator to Kharkhorum, 365 km (226.8 miles) away from the city. Kharkhorum was the capital of the Mongol Empire between 1235 and 1260 and the one of the biggest trade center. We visit Khunnu Mountain, Sand Dunes and Kharkhorum Museum. The Kharkhorum Museum was built in 2010, displaying highly interesting and valuable objects, found in Kharkhorum area.

We taste “Khorkhog” for dinner, a barbecue dish in Mongolian cuisine. It is made by cooking pieces of meat inside a container which also contains hot stones and water, and is often heated from the outside. We stay overnight in warm Ger (Mongolian Traditional Yurt). Breakfast, lunch and dinner included. 4 people can stay in per Ger.

Kharkhorum-Ugii Lake

After breakfast at the resort, we visit Erdene-zuu Monastery. This monastery was established in 1586 probably the earliest surviving Buddhist monastery in Mongolia. Located in Övörkhangai Province, approximately 2 km north-east from the center of Kharkhorin and adjacent to the ancient city of Karakorum, it is part of the Orkhon Valley Cultural Landscape World Heritage Site. There is a 108 stupas (108 being a sacred number in Buddhism). Also, you can see giant turtle rock from there. After lunch, we take a bus to Ugii Lake (100km). Ugii Lake is situated in the center of Mongolia with a length of 700 km and depth of 3000 m. Moreover, we visit Bilge Khan and General Kul Tigin Complex (Turkish), also known as Khushuu Tsaidam Memorial Complex. Then, we will stay overnight at tourist camp. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included. 2-4 people can stay in per Ger.)

Ugii Lake – Ulan-Bator

After breakfast, we will travel back to Ulan-Bator city (350 km). After arriving in Ulan-Bator, we will see a concert of Mongolian National Song and Dance Assembly. The entertainment includes traditional song and dance, Buddhist dance and acrobat show. Then, we will take a rest at the hotel. (Dinner included. 3-star hotel.)

Ulan-Bator – Genghis Khan Equestrian Statue-Terelj National Park- Ulan-Bator

After breakfast at the hotel, we will visit Parliament House and Chinggis Square, located in the center of the city. There is General Sukhbaatar Statue, situated in the middle of the square. He was a founding member of the Mongolian People's Party and leader of the Mongolian partisan army that liberated Khüree during the Outer Mongolian Revolution of 1921. Enshrined as the "Father of Mongolia's Revolution", he is remembered as one of the most important figures in Mongolia's struggle for independence. Then, our tour will continue through Gandantegchilen Monastery. The Gandantegchinlen Monastery is a Tibetan-style Buddhist monastery in the Mongolian capital of Ulaanbaatar that has been restored and revitalized since 1990. The Tibetan name translates to the "Great Place of Complete Joy". It currently has over 150 monks in residence. It features a 26.5-meterhigh statue of Avalokiteśvara. After lunch, we will take a bus from Ulan-Bator to Tuv province, Erdene Soum, 60 km away from the city center.

We will visit Genghis Khan Equestrian Statue. The Genghis Khan Equestrian Statue, part of the Genghis Khan Statue Complex is a 40-metre (131 ft 3 in) tall statue of Genghis Khan on horseback.The statue is symbolically pointed east towards his birthplace. It is on top of the Genghis Khan Statue Complex, a visitor centre, itself 10 metres (32 ft 10 in) tall, with 36 columns representing the 36 khans from Genghis to Ligdan Khan. Then, we will travel to Terelj National Park (80km). The park has many rock formations for rock climbers, and includes two famous formations named for things they resemble: Turtle Rock and the Old Man Reading a Book (Praying Lama Rock).After that, we will visit Nomadic family and have a chance to explore traditional way of living and taste various kinds of diary products and airag (fermented horse milk). After dinner, we will travel back to Ulan-Bator and stay overnight at the hotel. (Breakfast, lunch and dinner included. 3-star hotel.)

Ulan-Bator

After breakfast, we will continue our city sightseeing. First, we will visit Buddha Statue Garden Complex. The complex was built in 2005 by the fundraising, lead by Gurudava Rinbuchi. The Buddha Statue is 23 m in height. There is Zaisan Memorial. The Zaisan Memorial is a memorial in the southern area of the Mongolian capital of Ulaanbaatar that honors Soviet soldiers killed in World War II. Located on a hill in the southern part of the city, the memorial features a circular memorial painting that depicts scenes of friendship between the people of the USSR and Mongolia. It is one of the highlights of Ulan-Bator city thanks to the fantastic views it offers over the city. Then, we will pack and go to airport for our flight back home. (Breakfast included.)
